Nomina Rosae Theatre
Combining the fascination with history and beauty of early culture, the Foundation has created the Nomina Rosae Theatre, which prepares and produces plays and shows based on masterpieces of Polish Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque literature as well as on early literary and poetic texts, presenting to the viewers the charm of the eras gone-by. It’s the only such thatre in Poland.
The theatre prepares plays on comission of cities, museums, cultural institutions, often connected with important historical anniversaries. Until now it produced over a dozen shows, that premiered i.a. in the Malbork castle, in the Ryn castle (during the Medieval Culture Festival), in the Barbican in Kraków, in the Levoca museum (Slovakia), and also in Stary Sącz (Early Music Festival) and Kraków (“Crossrads” festival) We work with early music ensembles, and Sotto le Stelle court ballet, as well as with SPOT acting school in Kraków.
We prepare both big shows and more private stagings.
