In Ahasuerus’ footsteps
| On Oct10,2018“In Ahasuerus’ footsteps” – is a documentary directed by Barbara Szewczyk presenting the “Shtetl of Tsanz – Young Ambassadors of Tolerance” project. The title is inspired by the medieval legend, in which Ahasuerus was the character of Eternally Wandering Jew who was condemned to ceaselessly walk around the world.
The movie documents the course of the project, shows the Young Ambassadors of Tolerance as they were visiting places important for the history and culture of Jewish people of Poland (incl. Tarnów, Leżajsk, Lublin) and martyrdom sites (Bełżec, Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp), presents the young people’s reflections and feelings.

The movie was created within the “Shtetl of Tsanz – Young Ambassadors of Tolerance” project carried out by the Nomina Rosae Foundation thanks to the grant received within the “Citizens for Democracy” programme, coordinated in Poland by the Stefan Batory Foundation and Polish Children and Youth Foundation, financed from EEA Funds.
