As a part of Culture Voucher organized by Lesser-Poland Culture Centre SOKÓŁ in Nowy Sącz you’ll have an opportunity to set off on a journey to the Middle Ages with our Fashion Time Machine. Classes are dedicated to organized groups of children, young people and adults as well as to indivudals and families with children.
Culture Voucher is a programme of funding of workshops and cultural events, carried out by local institutions of culture due to the initiative of authorities of Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
Culture Voucher grants you up to 75% discount for educational classes carried out as a part of a project. Discount is available until all funds allocated for the Cultre Voucher 2014 are spent.
For groups organized from outside the city of Nowy Sącz a special price offer is forseen – lowered cost of the classes.
If you like to discover the secrets of the past and learn about the customs of early life, if you want to see for yourself, how people lived hundreds of years ago, feel like king Kasimirus the Great, queen Hedwig or Zawisza, the Black Knight – come join our exquisite journey with our fashion time machine, which will take you to the misterious middle-ages!
Thanks to the workshops, which will introduce your into the colourful history of fashion, the participants will have the oppurtunity to meet directly with the past. The goal of the classes are to bring the times of the Middle Ages – unique era including almost a thousand years of history of Poland – nearer with early garments and accessories. Customs, culture, art are inseparably connected with fashion and its social and cultural meaning – that is why the workshops have been designed as a journey with one-off replicas of historical garments through medieval houses, castles, chambers, monasteries, universities and libraries from 5th to 15th century.
Workshops will be carried out as an interactive educational classes for young people and children with guardians, in which there will be:
– introductory part, in which the facts and important historic characters will be introduced,
– practical part, in which the iconography and replicas of early garments will be shown (with the opportunity for the participants to try the garments on),
– workshop part, in which the participants will create their individual projects of garments as well as accesories and pieces of clothing;
