THEATRE PLAY AND MOVIE
The premiere of “The Mystery of Saint Kinga” play will take place on March 15, 2015 at the Storia Theatre, that is a joint initiative of the Nomina Rosae Foundation and the Ada Sari Culture and Arts Centre in Stary Sącz. The screenplay is being created based on the spectacle prepared and staged by Nomina Rosae Theatre in the courtyard of the Poor Clare sisters monastery as a part of jubilee Early Music Festival in Stary Sącz in 2012. This time the play will be staged on the stage of Sokół of Stary Sącz. After the premiere we are planning to produce a movie based on the play, therefore creating the first in the history of Polish cinematography feature-length movie about the life of st. Kinga and her way towards sanctity. The play and movie will not only present the strong character of the saint, but also her inestimable contribution into the development of the region. The story will be told in a poetic way, employing colourful costumes, visionary stage design and state-of-the-art elements like multimedia projections. Artistic features of the spectacle, medieval music and exceptional compositions using Mongolian throat-singing as well as atmospheric lighting will invoke the unusual, at times even sacral, atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The movie will be shot in the locations of Sądecczyzna region rich with beautiful landscapes.
