nvite you to MCK SOKÓŁ for workshops hosted by the Nomina Rosae Foundation within the Cultural Voucher programme. Peculiar Album of Memories is an adventure combining the past and the present.

PECULIAR ALBUM OF MEMORIES – CULTURAL VOUCHER
The idea of the workshops is inspired with the historical tradition of making diaries and albums, known even in the 16th century and particularly developed in the 19th century thanks to the invention of photography During the workshops the participants will use prepared materials and templates to create their own memoirist albums, combining personal photos with reprints of old photographs, completed with colorful images and stylized decorative elements, allowing also to collect commemorative entries and dedications. The introduction to the workshops consists of multimedia slideshow, during which the participants will learn the tradition of memoirs, methods and techniques of their creation, as well as selected problems of the history of photography. The slideshow will be completed with a unique presentation of original antique photos from the 19th century and examples of diaries, that will allow the participants to compare the meaning photography had for our ancestors and what it means for us today. The participants will also have their stylized instant photos taken as a souvenir from the workshops. The goal of the workshop, along with the artistic development, is the stimulation of historical imagination through contact with old methods used to fixate the image of people and to present themselves and their families. In result, the workshops are meant to encourage to keep a memoirist album, that in the future could become a unique form of souvenir with childhood memories.
