Director of the Regional Museum in Nowy Sącz and the Nomina Rosae Foundation Early Culture Garden invite for the presentation of the “Burghers’ clothing from the collections of Regional Museum in Nowy Sącz” folder.

The folder presents over a 100 most interesting objects from the collection of burhers’ clothes. Most of them were previously owned by the prominent families of Nowy Sącz: Barbacki, Kobak, Borucki, Flis and Ritter. The objects were juxtaposed with photographs, archive illustrations and reprints of paintings and with descriptions of clothing and accessories connected with them. The book also contains popular scientific artciles “Burghers’ fashion in Nowy Sącz” and “Role of archival photography in the studies of burghers’ clothing on the example of Sącz region”, written by Maria Molenda, the president of our Foundation.

During the meeting a presentation of a 19th-century woman getting dressed is planned, prepared by the Nomina Rosae Foundation as well as a presentation of selected items from the burghers’ clothing collection of the Museum.

There will be a possibility to visit the storage rooms of the Main Building for those participating in the event.
