Archive workshops
| On Sep05,2018Young Ambassadors of Tolerance course has been opened with archive workshops preapred and led by Łukasz Połomski. Within the workshops young people learned how an archive functions, gained basic knowledge on the subject of historical sources and also started independently working on pre-war school records of students of Jewish denomination in Nowy Sącz.In the first part of the workshop Young Ambassadors got to know the record books and censuses. Sources of Jewish history in 19th and 20th century were discussed by łukasz Połomski and our special guest, Artur Franczak, head of the Voivodship Public Library in Nowy Sącz presented the symbolics of matzevot, that are also a historical source.
In the second part Young Ambassadors of Tolerance got to know the Special Archives of the Nowy Sącz Library. We’d like to thank Mrs Iwona Droździk for her fascinating story about the historical collection.
In the 3rd Elementary School we’ve photographed the whole documentation from the Galician period. We’d like to thank Mr Andrzej Haslinger, the school’s headmaster, for his kindness.
