SPRING
Short movie “SPRING” (pol. “Wiosna”) is an adaptation of one of short stories of the iconic “Hourglass Sanitarium” by Bruno Schulz. Based on a fragment of this extraordinary text, a horror short was created. A fog-filled movie, drowning in the early spring swamps, full of ghosts and apparitions. A movie about the power of stories, that are the essence of culture, about past that not always wants to fall into oblivion, about lives that become stories and about the fact, that no story thatever  passed away is wasted. We – the living – draw from them, ofen even not counsciously, and that’s how they can come back to life.

Hindełe – a mysterious apparition – reveals her life story and with her she brings from the afterlife the shadows of a vanished shtetl of Tsanz and the old Kazimierz of Kraków. In her story, Hindełe’s loved ones and their amazing lives are reanimated. A loving mother, and most importantly a wise brother Isaac, who went to study in Kraków, instructed by the Melamed of Nowy Sącz. The shy and pious young man met beautiful and wealthy Sara there. They married but were not happy for long. the young wife died giving birth leaving two twin daughters. Heartbroken Isaac moved away from the children. The woman, ruing the emotional break in the family, decided to change the bad fortune
