Bandura concert in Nowy Sącz
| On Oct09,2018In August we will have the great pleasure of hosting a bandura ensemble form the Tarnopol University (Ukraine) led by Dmytro Hubyaka, that will visit Nowy Sącz and on August 6th at 18:00 will play an extraordinary concert in the Evangelical-Augsburg Church at the 21 Pijarska str.
Bandura is a traditional Ukrainian plucked instrument with a very distinct shape and more than 60 strings! The music played on bandura has a unique atmosphere, and the band of several bandura players is able to create music that is incomparable with anything else.
Tickets are available at the spot on the concert day at the price of 15 zł.
DMYTRO HUBYAK – Graduate of the Musical Academy in Lvov. Outstanding Ukrainian bandura player as well as vocalist, composer and actor.
Dmytro Hubyak is a great instrumentalist playing two bandura types – Kiev and Kharkov
Multiple winner of many Ukrainian and international comeptitions and folk instrumental festivals.
He works with many musical groups in Ukraine and abroad.
For several years he works with Polish “Camerata Cracovia” ensemble, taking part in joint concerts, where Polish, Ukrainian and Russian repertoire of 17th- and 18th-century, documenting links between Poland and Eastern Slavic region.
He took part in recording session of a unique album “Polish and Ruthenian chants”, recorded in the Krzysztof Penderecki European Music Center in Lusławice, released by “Dux” a famous Polish phonographic company.
He works in Tarnopol in a Musical and drama theatre as an actor and vocalist and teaches bandura class at the Volodymyr Hnatiuk University.
He recorded 5 solo albums with classical and contemporary music and with bandura music.
Bandura players’ ensemble – Women’s bandura players’ ensemble of the V. Hantiuk Tarnopol University led by Dmytro Hubyak exists since 2010.
In its 6-years-long history the ensemble managed to win prestigious professional Ukrainian musical competitions of various class.
The ensemble’s repertoire covers compositions by contemporary Ukrianian and foreign composers of brass music and Ukrainian folk songs.
In France it recorded an album «LES CORDES ET VOIX MAGIQUES D’UKRAINE» («Magical strings and voices of Ukraine») and 6 music videos.
The ensemble toured France 4 times and performed at over 60 concerts there.
