Women’s History – Women in History 11th Labyrinth of History
| On Oct09,2018From 21st to 28th October we invite you to Nowy Sącz for the 11th Labyrinth of History This year’s Labyrinth deals with the history of women. Within the programme lectures and conference by students, teachers and researchers are planned. In the Labyrinth we will also have artistic events – “Kinga” play performed by Storia Theatre and a historical fashion show.
From 21st to 28th October we invite you to Nowy Sącz to SOKÓŁ Lesser Poland Cultural Centre for the 11th “Labyrinth of History”. This year’s Labyrinth deals with the history of women. Within it lectures are planned (we’ll host among others prof. dr hab. Dariusz KOŁODZIEJCZYK from Warsaw University, dr hab. Marcin STARZYŃSKI and dr Andrzej MARZEC from Jagiellonian University, Urszula KOZAKOWSKA-ZAUCHA from National Museum in Kraków). A new part of the programme is a joint conference of students, teachers and researchers, where papers will be presented in four panels: I. Fashion: Woman’s friend or enemy, II. Women and art Muses, artists, patronesses, III. Women in the service of darkness, IV. Emancipation, education, work – women on the path to education and freedom.
The Labyrinth won’t lack artistic events. On 25th October at 19:00 we invite for a „DREAM OF BEAUTY” – historical fashion show prepared by Nomina Rosae Foundation. On 27th October at 10:30 we invite for the “KINGA” play performed by STORIA Theatre (dir. Barbara SZEWCZYK, starring Aleksandra POWĘZKA, Józef WIĘCŁAWEK, Łukasz OLEŚ).
The Labyrinth will also include references to local history. At SOKÓŁ Lesser Poland Cultural Centre the “Nowy Sącz is a woman! From the history of Nowy Sącz women” exhibition will be available. During the opening a historian, Łukasz POŁOMSKI from Nomina Rosae Foundation will give a lecture about exceptional women from the history of Nowy Sącz.
