Honorary Ambassador of the Shtetl of Tsanz Gala

We’ve awarded another title of the Honorary Ambassador of the Shtetl of Tsanz. It was given to Julie Boudreaux and posthumously to Charles Merrill. They are exceptional people for the Shtetl of Tsanz, merited in building the values which we hold dear. The official Gala is an open event – we invite you to the Hotel Beskid on March 25th at 16:00 (Sunday). Laudation for the awarded will be given by Edyta Danielska.

On April 3rd, we invite you to MCK SOKÓŁ for the 3rd Shtetl Cheder. At 17:00 in Sichrawa Auditorium we meet with Agnieszka Traczewska, who will tell us about her latest album “Returns”, about the stories of chasidim pilgrimages… An important topic in our town! The talk will be hosted by dr Łukasz Połomski, director of the Shtetl of Tsanz. The book will be available for purchase for 120 zł.

April 29th marks the 76th anniversary of the April Operation in the Nowy Sącz ghetto. The Germans murdered 400 people of Nowy Sącz on that day.

On June 17th at 13:30 we will unveil the memorial monument of Jewish people murdered in Krościenko nad Dunajcem. The ceremony will take place at the Jewish cemetery, with participation of local authorities and Jewish community. The event will take place thanks to numerous donors, who helped create the monumemt at the graveyard, as well as thanks to the grant of Żydowski Instytut Historyczny (Jewish Historical Institute) Association. The cemetery will also be fenced thanks to the efforts of Niseunbaum

On August 23rd, 1942 the Germans started the Nowy Sącz ghetto liquidation. 16 thousand of the citizens of our city were brutally murdered in the death camp in Bełżec. On the 76th anniversary of these events we will remember.
