November’s Light Of Memory
| On Oct08,2018On the first days of November we remember about our close ones, who are already gone. But we owe our memory also to all those, who helped create our history and our town. This year, because of the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation, we want to remember about forgotten cemeteries and graves of the Evangelics. Let’s visit the cemeteries in Nowy Sącz and Stadła, light the candles on the deserted graves of the graveyards around Nowy Sącz.For the fifth time we invite you to join the “November Light of Memory” We appeal to you to light the candles from 31.10 until 2.11 at the old Jewish cemetery (Piotra Skargi str.) and Evangelical cemetery (Orkana str.). Let the light lit be a symbol of memory and let it remind all of us about these places.
On November 1st and 2nd the new Jewish cemetery at Rybacka str. will be open. At the graveyard not only Jewish people, but also Catholics who were shot there are lying. Among them are many heros, who helped the Jewish people during the war. For their sacrifice they payed the ultimate price – life.
