Ladies and gentlemen,
We kindly invite you to the briefing presenting “THE SHTETL OF TSANZ – YOUNG AMBASSADORS OF TOLERANCE” programme on 4/16/2015 at 18.00 in the restaurant of Beskid Hotel in Nowy Sącz at 1 Limanowskiego st.
Number of possible participants at the meeting is limited, therefore please send your registrations until 14.04. to the fundacja@nomina.pl e-mail address (registrations order decides).
At the briefing we want to present you an unique educational programme aimed at students of secondary and post-secondary schools entitled “THE SHTETL OF TSANZ – YOUNG AMBASSADORS OF TOLERANCE”. It is dedicated to the history of Jewish people with particular emphasis on local history of Jewish community. The aim of the programme is to strengthening of the attitudes of tolerance, respect towards other people, openness to dialogue and knowledge. Thanks to the programme young people – your students – will gain precious knowledge from the area of history, will take part in an interesting course, within which they’ll have the chance to work actively and creatively, develop themselves and positively influence their environment. Number of project beneficiaries i limited and they will be selected based on application questionnaires.
During the meeting we will present the detailed programme schedule, hand out useful educational material.
The programme is carried out by Nomina Rosae Foundation financed by a grant received within the Citizens for Democracy programme coordinated by the Stefan Batory Foundation in collaboration with the Polish Children and Youth Foundation, financed by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanisms. Our partners are Małopolskie Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ (Lesser-Poland’s Culture Centre SOKÓŁ), Małopolskie Towarzystwo Oświatowe (The Educational Society for Małopolska) and Centrum Kultury i Sztuki im. Ady Sari w Starym Sączu (Ada Sari Culture and Arts Centre in Stary Sącz).
What can a school gain from the programme?
Within the project an unique lesson dedicated to the history of local Jewish community can be given at your school. The lesson will also cover questions of formation of stereotypes and prejudices against others.
A school that will take part in the project will then receive after its conclusion the educational handbook and movie dedicated to the history of Jewish people of Sądecczyzna and it’s students participation in the project. We hope, that it will serve you in education of next generations.
Outline of the programme:
Briefing for teachers 4/16/2015 (Agenda: Project presentation,
presentation and handing out of educational material, discussion, refreshments)
Realization of the 8 lessons in 8 selected educational establishments (time: 2nd half of April – May 2015)
Realization of open lectures and workshops on May 25-26th 2015 in the Małopolskie Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ Number of beneficiaries limited, order of applications is deciding in the selection.
Selection of the group of 20 students, that will take part in the further part of the project, including lectures, workshops, courses, trips, co-creation of the movie, exhibition and cultural events.

How a school can participate in the project?
Within the programme we can offer realization of 8 lessons for 8 schools At the 4/16/2015 meeting singing up for the lessons will be possible. The applications are also accepted via e-mail at: fundacja@nomina.pl
After that we will select 8 educational establishments that the lessons will be given in. The lessons will take place in the 2nd half of April and in May. After the lesson we will hand out the questionnaire to the students, which will also be available on the website. Filling and submission of the questionnaire in due time will be a declaration of wish to participate in the project. Based on application questionnaires we will select a group of 20, that will be invited to participate in the further part of the programme.
For every school that will apply in due time two open lectures will be organized along with workshops in the Małopolskie Centrum Kultury SOKÓŁ on May 25th and 26th
