On the second-last Saturday of September we were invited to the Pieskowa Skala Castle to animate its chambers, courtyard and cloisters, acting out scenes from the life of a Renaissance court. Inspired by the history of the Castle and its inhabitants of the 16th century, we decided to reenact the wedding of Regina Kościelecka and Hieronim Szafraniec and several scenes accompanying this event – cavaliers fighting for ladies’ affections, preparation in the bride’s wardrobe, welcoming of the Sigismundus I king’s suite and the tying of the maritial knot iteslf. The actors of the Nomina Rosae Theatre were accompanied by dancers of the Jane Austen Dance School from Kraków and cavaliers of the Free Sarmatian Company from Wrocław.
