Pre-premiere screening of “The Polish Portrait”
| On Aug12,2019We cordially invite everyone on 21st August at 19.00, for the pre-premiere screening of “The Polish Portrait” at the SOKÓŁ cinema in Nowy Sącz
The official pre-premiere screening was planned for the day of the 78th anniversary of death of Bolesław Barbacki. After the screening we invite the audience to meet the people involved in the film’s creation.
The picture tells the story of Bolesław Barbacki, a great Polish man, great citizen of Nowy Sącz, painter, actor, teacher, social activist and president of the “SOKÓŁ” Gymnastic Society. It’s a story of a true Renaissance man, a man of unravelled and hidden talents, who was a true pillar of his little homeland.
The film was directed by Barbara Szewczyk, based on an idea and screenplay by Maria Molenda – president of the Nomina Rosae Foundation Early Culture Garden.

The film was created as within the Lesser Poland Film Library project. The Programme was financed by the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Kraków, with funds from the budget of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
